Rene Furterer is a French hair care line that prides itself on using natural active ingredients in its products, such as essential oils. See below for a detailed company profile. Naturia Dry Shampoo is their powder shampoo offering, and one look at the ingredient list confirms that this product adheres to their line’s concept. It contains cornstarch and rice powder, silica, safflower oil, kaolin clay, and peppermint and basil essential oils.
This is one of the lighter dry shampoos on the market. It works best as a touch-up for after the gym or to freshen your hair after work before a night out. If you have significantly oily hair, I think this product is not strong enough to get the job done. See our dry shampoo reviews page if you are looking for something heavier. You would have to use so much of it that it would be obvious and visible. However, if you are looking for a natural product that only needs to serve light duty, Rene Furterer dry shampoo is ideal.
Naturia is a dry shampoo spray and like many dry shampoo sprays, it is easy to use up the entire bottle much faster than you intended. It is not uncommon to only get five or ten uses out of one of these bottles. The best approach is to spray a small amount to begin with, wait, comb through, and then determine if you need to add more. Spraying indiscriminately like you would with hairspray could leave you broke pretty quickly at about $25 a bottle.
One problem some people have with Naturia is the scent, but the scent does mellow with time. Rene Furterer prides itself on using only natural ingredients, and with a list that includes things like peppermint and orange oil, you might be expecting a refreshing and invigorating fragrance. Unfortunately, this has a very heavy smell in the beginning. However, it smells worst when it is being sprayed and the scent does fade quickly.
Is this product worth purchasing? If natural ingredients are very important to you and you are not planning to use it on the fifth day of not washing your hair, then yes, this is a good choice for you. But with so many other dry shampoos on the market, I think a lot of people might find something else that suits their needs better. For example, Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo leaves behind a fun summery scent and costs less than half of Naturia. Bumble and Bumble dry shampoo is a little pricier but it gives hair a lot of great volume and really makes your hair look a lot cleaner. I’d take either of those over this product. But Rene Furterer gets lots of props for coming up with such a natural formula.
If you are looking to buy Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo , you can usually save some money by getting it on Amazon. They also have the travel size so you don’t have to commit to a full bottle until you know for sure it’s going to work well for you. Rene Furterer Company Profile
Rene Furterer is a hair care company established by Rene Furterer himself in Provence. Their aim is to create hair care products that are as close to nature as possible. All of the products feature green packaging and plant-based ingredients. Their premise is simple: healthy hair comes from a healthy scalp. Rather than trying to treat damaged hair, they seek to prevent it by keeping the scalp in top shape. Their products are packed with vitamins and other botanical ingredients that promote healthy hair and, in turn, hair growth. They all feature essential oils which not only help the skin on the scalp but also lend a natural, fresh fragrance to the hair. The company started out small but is now owned by Laboratoires Pierre Fabre, which affords them a bigger budget for researching the very best botanical ingredients to use in their hair care products.
The Rene Furterer line includes a variety of organic shampoos and conditioners as well as dry shampoo. They also offer organic hair styling products such as wax and mousse. Their scalp treatments are among the best on the market thanks to Furterer’s focus on scalp health as the main factor in determining hair health and appearance. They also have several kits and gift sets which enable consumers to try several of their products at once.
One of their top selling products is Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo. This product is great for people who are environmentally conscious. It is a powder that takes the place of shampoo by absorbing oil from the hair. Rene Furterer dry shampoo is not only full of natural ingredients but also has the added benefit of reducing the waste of water and electricity.
Another top seller is Rene Furterer Reactional Thin Hair Program. This is a three step program designed to help regrow hair. This is not created for those suffering from genetic hair loss or hair loss due to aging. Rather, it treats reactional hair loss, which is hair loss due to stress or hormonal factors such as pregnancy.
They have another 3-step kit designed to help fight frizzy hair. The Rene Furterer 3 Step Anti Frizz Kit features three organic products designed to be used in conjunction with one another. The shampoo and conditioner are to be followed up with serum which all work together to keep hair looking sleek and tamed on even the most humid days.
Rene Furterer is a salon brand that can also be found at high end retailers, including online. Their prices are toward the high end of the scale thanks to the research that goes into their formulations as well as the natural ingredients used.

This review is of Klorane Extra Gentle Dry Shampoo With Oat Extract. This product has been around for ages and somehow I never got around to trying it until now. I have heard lots of good things about it from other people and in magazines throughout the years, so I thought I’d give it a go so I could add it to our list of dry shampoo reviews.
First, it was not that easy to find in stores. In Europe you can find it easily in pharmacies but not so in the U.S., although it is pretty easy to find online. It is in the mid-range for prices as far as dry shampoos go, around $15 or so. I was a bit disappointed in the size of the bottle I received for that price, but found that it lasted a lot longer than I thought it would.
Best Prices for Klorane Dry Shampoo
First, I found the pump spray a bit odd. It took me a few tries to get it to spray but eventually it worked. The smell is very subtle compared to some other dry shampoos I have tried. I found it to be very natural. In fact, the entire product is made with natural ingredients such as oat extract, which is a big bonus for people who don’t like adding unnecessary chemicals to their hair.
You are supposed to spray on some powder, let it sit a few minutes, and then brush. I followed the instructions exactly and it didn’t leave any white streaks or residue. Overall, I was pleased with the ease of use and the natural look it created. It didn’t do much in the way of volume but it did leave my hair looking a lot cleaner.
The effects of Klorane Dry Shampoo last about one day, so if you plan to wait a few days between washings, you will need to reapply it every day, which is not a big deal at all considering it only takes a few minutes to apply. Further, I used this as many as three days in a row and it didn’t build up in my hair- each day was like starting with a clean slate. That could be because my hair just got so oily that it was continuously absorbing it, but it’s also a well-formulated product.
I think this dry shampoo spray performs very well and I give props to Klorane for making something that is all natural. My main criticism is the amount of product you get for the price. I think it could be the way the pump is designed. The bottle does indeed look small, but I got a bit more product out of it than I thought I would. I have bought this product a few different times and I have found that the number of uses I get out of each can varies. I would definitely consider repurchasing because I like the subtle scent, the natural ingredients, and the soft, clean look it left in my hair
As mentioned earlier, it can be difficult to find this in stores, but you can pick it up online at Amazon for close to $10 which is a lot cheaper than the list price. There is also a travel size, which is great because dry shampoo is a must-have for short trips when you don’t feel like bringing your hair dryer, flat iron, shampoo, and so on. You might have heard that you can use cornstarch as dry shampoo. Many home remedies for oily hair suggest using cornstarch to absorb the grease. Cornstarch is something many of us have on hand in our kitchen for thickening stews and making pudding. It also has a number of uses for beauty, from clearing diaper rashes to yes, even helping your hair look a little less greasy. It’s also perfect after using coconut oil for hair if you find that it leaves your hair looking too greasy. Be sure you do not confuse cornstarch with cornmeal. The grains of cornmeal are too large to use in your hair.
To use corn starch as dry shampoo for oily hair, first pour some into the palm of your hand. Start with a small amount because it’s easy to overdo it and if you don’t put enough initially, you can always add more later. Then rub your hands together and then pat them gently onto your scalp. You should not apply it anywhere near your ends- just at the roots where your hair is greasy. Don’t worry about how it looks when you first apply it. Just make sure you put it as close to the scalp as you can.
If you plan on doing this a lot, you may want to use a shaker bottle with holes at the top for this purpose so that you can easily pour out a small amount and avoid getting powder everywhere. If you use a shaker bottle, just shake a little bit directly onto your hair at the roots.
Next, brush or comb the powder through your hair. A fine-toothed comb is the best choice for even distribution, then follow up with your usual brush. This helps disperse the powder. If your hair still looks greasy, add more cornstarch. If your hair looks powdery, simply continue combing and brushing until the powder is no longer noticeable. If you think you applied way too much, you may need to rub the excess with a towel or your hand as well.
The main problem with using cornstarch as hair powder is that it can be obvious if you do it wrong. Apply too much and you will have visible white powder in your hair which may even be mistaken for dandruff. That is why it’s best to start with a little and then keep adding more until the greasiness is gone.
In a pinch, cornstarch as a homemade dry shampoo is great but if you think you’ll use it often, it is better to buy a dry shampoo that is specially formulated for hair as these tend to blend better and often contain ingredients that help make your hair healthy and smell great. If cornstarch appeals to you because it’s natural, you may want to consider a commercial product made with natural ingredients such as Naturia by Rene Furterer.

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is one of the more popular dry shampoos on the market and no list of dry shampoo reviews would be complete without it. We took it for a test drive and after about a month of consistent use, we really like what we found. This dry shampoo is in the mid-price range. For around $15, you get a decent sized bottle. It also comes in a travel size, which is handy because dry shampoo is the perfect product to bring on trips. Please note this review applies only to the hair powder. This product is also available in spray format but the spray nozzle clogged quite a bit and I can’t really recommend it over the powder.
Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo powder has a very fine texture so having a powdery look to your hair won’t be an issue, even if you are a brunette like me. As someone who doesn’t like to waste money, I try to go as long as possible between hair colorings and one way to preserve the color is to avoid excessive washing. On top of that, I don’t have much free time and I don’t like to spend what little time I do have blow drying my hair and then straightening it. This product solves both problems for me by enabling me to only wash and style my hair once every five days or so.
This product has a citrus scent which I find light and refreshing. The main ingredient is rice starch which is very natural. You only need to put a little bit at the roots and then brush it through, so one bottle could conceivably last a very long time. It doesn’t make your hair look dull or powdery and is pretty easy to blend as far as hair powder goes. It is also great for giving some volume to your hair. I’ve used it successfully for adding some lift when doing updos. It doesn’t provide as much volume as Schwarzkopf Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder but it definitely outperforms it in terms of grease-absorbing ability.
I will say that it’s not something you can use every day for a week because then it starts to build up and become more noticeable. I think even the laziest among us try not to go that long without washing our hair anyway.
One caveat: do not apply Oscar Blandi Pronto dry shampoo to wet hair or it will become clumpy. That is probably true for all dry shampoo but it’s something we discovered by accident.
If you want to buy Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo , you might want to start out with the travel size
because it’s a bit cheaper and that way you can see if it will work well for you before you commit to the full sized Pronto Dry Shampoo .

Did you know that you can make dry shampoo yourself at home? It is really quite easy to make. But be forewarned: the results are not nearly as good as with store-bought dry shampoo. Nonetheless, it is useful to know how to make your own dry shampoo in case of real hair emergencies when you can’t get to the drugstore. You can use homemade dry shampoo for volume, freshness, and a cleaner appearance.
The key ingredient in homemade dry shampoo is cornstarch. Most people who cook regularly already have cornstarch on hand in the kitchen for thickening soups and homemade pudding. Cornstarch also has a variety of beauty remedies, such as healing diaper rash in children and yes, making dry shampoo. If you don’t have cornstarch on hand, cornmeal will work but the grains are a little larger and it can be messier. Arrowroot starch can also be used, and some people like to mix in a bit of baking soda for its freshening qualities. Avoid talcum powder as recent studies have shown that it can cause respiratory problems and even cancer. On a similar note, most baby powder is now made with cornstarch instead of talc due to the dangers so you could use baby powder to make dry shampoo as well.
Many store-bought dry shampoos have the added benefit of giving your hair a fresh scent. You can add some fragrance to your homemade dry shampoo. You can mix in scented powders or a few drops of fragrance oil to give your hair a nice fragrance. If you don’t have any ingredients suitable for mixing into the powder shampoo, just spritz your hair with a spray of perfume after you’ve applied to dry shampoo to help mask that unwashed hair odor.
Make and store your own dry shampoo for emergencies.
Homemade dry shampoo is simple to use. If you have an empty shaker container, you can use that to apply it but otherwise you can simply pinch some in your fingers and sprinkle it on manually. Start with about a teaspoon-sized amount and apply it as close to the scalp as possible since that is where the oil comes from. You may want to do this over a sink or towel to catch all of the extraneous powder as the application process can get a little messy. Run your fingers through your hair to help distribute it and then comb it through with a fine-toothed comb to help it reach all parts of your hair evenly. If your hair still appears greasy, keep adding more, little by little, until the desired effect is achieved.
When you’ve run out of dry shampoo and you’re desperate to fix oily hair, it’s quite easy to make this quick fix at home but remember that you will get much better results with commercial dry shampoo.

Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo is the latest offering from the famous hair care line loved by celebrities and high end hairdressers. I adore their thickening spray so I thought I’d give their dry shampoo a try as well. What I liked about it before I even bought it was the fact that it is available in five different colors: White, blondish, red, brown, and black. Many people claim dry shampoos leave a trace of noticeable powder so buying it in a color that matches your hair seems like one way to avoid this problem.
I have dark brown hair, so I decided to get both the brown and the black hair powder to see which one suited my hair better. Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo contains oat flour and corn starch and I always prefer natural ingredients whenever possible. You do have to be careful applying this due to the color… don’t put it on when you are wearing a white shirt! The black one in particular left colored powder everywhere. I recommend covering your shoulders and the floor with a dark towel before applying this product to avoid staining. I’d also be hesitant to wear a light colored shirt on the days that I use this.
Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo does not seem to leave as much of a clean appearance in my hair as other dry shampoos do, but this product is excellent at providing body to my hair. A few days after washing my hair, not only does it look greasy but it is also quite slick and flat against my head. What the Bumble and Bumble hair powder does is really help give some volume to my hair between washings and helps me create the illusion of more hair. It also helps blend away my roots as I tend to push the limit in terms of time elapsed between hair colorings.
The red Bumble and Bumble hair powder can also be used to give lighter hair colors a little bit of a red cast, which is a really neat way to change your color a bit without any long-term commitment. It also blends great for redheads. The Bumble & Bumble white hair powder is ideal for those with white or grey hair, an often neglected segment when it comes to dry shampoo.
The main drawback of this product is the price. At around $40, it isn’t cheap, although that is to be expected with a high end line like Bumble + Bumble. If you buy online, you can find smaller sizes that sell for less than half the price, however. For all of the reasons outlined in this review, I don’t think this product is suited to every day use as a dry shampoo, but it is certainly worth having in your hair arsenal for special occasions. Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo is perfect when you need to transform dirty hair into something special on short notice. For something cheaper to use every day, check out our Dry Shampoo Reviews section to find something the right product for your hair.
If you’re wondering where to buy Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder, I find that Amazon offers the best prices. Here are some of my top picks:

Batiste Dry Shampoo is one of the more affordable dry shampoos on the market so it’s a great starting point for someone who is unsure about dry shampoo. The bottle has a no-frills design. The instructions are simple: you only need to shake the bottle, hold it about a foot away from your head and then spray it onto your hair and run your fingers through it. Then you comb it through and your hair looks cleaner and softer right away. It also lends a soft citrus fragrance, which is very fresh smelling and contributes to the illusion of clean hair. I tried it after a particularly long bike ride two days after washing my hair and it soaked up the oil in the hair quite well without leaving behind a telltale powdery residue typical of waterless shampoo. Even on my very dark hair it was impossible to tell I had used any type of powder. I have thin hair and need to use more than I expected, so those with thicker hair may have to apply it twice. Also, it needs to be reapplied daily for the desired effect. However, that is not a big deal when compared with how long it takes me to wash my hair and blow dry it.
There are three varieties of Batiste Dry Shampoo. I prefer the original, which has been around for 30 years. That is the one reviewed above that has a citrus fragrance. There is also Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo Spray which has a floral scent. Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo is perfect for the summer- it smells a bit like suntan lotion so I’d avoid that one during the winter months. All three types are also available in a travel size, which is perfect since dry shampoo is inherently suited for traveling. I always like to have a travel size of this on hand because I can just tuck it into my bag instead of bringing shampoo, conditioner, my hair dryer, my straightening iron, and all the creams and serums I put in my hair every time I wash it. Instead I just need to bring this one little bottle with me on short trips!
I found Batiste Dry Shampoo for under $10 for the full size, although they are often out of stock so I buy a few at a time when I can find it. For the price, it’s hard to go wrong with this product.
If you are looking for a good place to buy Batiste Dry Shampoo cheap, I suggest Amazon because the prices are lower than what I usually see in stores, plus you can order by the case. Here are some of the best options:

Dry Shampoo is the perfect choice for anyone who wants to have the appearance of clean hair without investing the time necessary to achieve it. Let’s face it: washing hair takes time. It’s not just about spending the 2 minutes or so it takes to lather and rinse… once you get your hair wet, you then have to dry it, and in most cases, style it as well. This can become rather tedious day after day. Thankfully, you can skip all of those steps and save a lot of time by using a little-known product called dry shampoo.
Dry shampoo is a specially formulated powder that gives hair a clean appearance and fresh feeling. It absorbs the excess oil that leaves hair looking greasy between washings. All you have to do is apply the “shampoo” to your hair and then brush it through. The result is soft-looking, lightly fragranced hair and a few more days before you have to get out the liquid shampoo.
Although still somewhat of a beauty secret, this powder shampoo is available from several cosmetic brands in a variety of prices and formulations. It has been around since the 70′s and was traditionally sold in a shaker but is now also available in a more convenient spray bottle. It can be a little pricey, but it pays for itself in terms of saving money on water for washing, electricity for drying and styling, not to mention the cost of styling products. Moreover, the time saved by using this product makes dry shampoo well worth the money. It is also usefulon short trips so you don’t have to lug around all of your styling tools and products.
A brush is all you need when working with dry shampoo.
Another benefit of powder shampoo is that it adds some volume to your hair. Hair that hasn’t been washed for several days not only looks greasy but also rather lifeless. By brushing in some dry shampoo, volume is instantly created. A bit of dry shampoo can help give a little bit of body and create the illusion of freshly blow-dried hair. The fragrance can help mask smoke and sweat odors as well.
This type of shampoo is very convenient to use on oily hair in a pinch, but it is not a long-term substitute for washing your hair the traditional way with regular shampoo and water. It is intended only to extend the time between washings, not replace them. Most people need to wash their hair the regular way at least once per week, and on the days in between when hair starts to look dirty, turn to dry shampoo.
